🎆 New England Revolution Fans — Your Revs Are Playoff-Bound!
Third in the East, a fortress rebuilt at Gillette, and the playoffs back for the first time since 2023. The Revs are chasing the first MLS Cup in club history — this is the fall to wear the Heritage Blue like you mean it.
The Club
The New England Revolution are an original MLS charter club — one of the ten teams that played the league’s inaugural season in 1996 — and 2026 is the club’s 31st MLS season and its 30th-anniversary campaign. The Revs, owned by the Kraft family, play in navy blue — Heritage Blue — with red and white, and carry one of the league’s great unfinished stories: five MLS Cup finals reached, five lost.
Home is Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, shared with the Patriots and the Revs’ home since it opened in 2002. The standard soccer configuration is listed at 20,000, but the building stretches for big nights — 34,506 packed in for the October 17, 2026 win over Chicago. If you are checking the Revolution schedule for a first trip, the home finale against Inter Miami is the one.
The man in charge is Marko Mitrović, the club’s 10th head coach, appointed November 7, 2025 after Caleb Porter was fired the previous September. Mitrović arrived from U.S. Soccer, where he led the U.S. U-23s to the quarterfinals of the Paris 2024 Olympics — and his promise on arrival was simple: “We will attack.” A year after finishing 11th, the Revs are third in the East. Promise kept.
Is Gil still running the show? It is what New England types into Google every week — and the answer is a renaissance. Add a marquee summer signing from Leeds United and a young striker wearing No. 99, and the navy New England Revolution jersey has rarely had this many names worth printing on the back.

The captain’s renaissance — 12 goals, 10 assists and a seat in the 150 club. The fan-inspired No. 10 Gil style jersey is the shirt of the Revs’ playoff return.
Last Season (2025): The Season That Cost Porter His Job
A roster overhaul — only 12 players survived from 2024 — never gelled. The Revs were solid on the road but dreadful at Gillette, the goals dried up (just 44 in 34 league matches), and an August collapse ended the playoff race early for a second straight year. New England finished 11th in the Eastern Conference on 36 points (9W–16L–9D), and Caleb Porter was fired on September 15, 2025.
Carles Gil carried the team anyway: 10 goals and 14 assists, both team highs, a fourth MLS All-Star selection and the team’s MVP award for the third straight year. In August 2025 he passed Taylor Twellman to become the club’s all-time leader in goal contributions. The other bright spots arrived late: goalkeeper Matt Turner returned on loan from Lyon on August 1, and striker Dor Turgeman signed in August and scored in each of his first three MLS appearances.
Best Players Right Now
Carles Gil — #10, attacking midfielder, captain. Still the sun the team orbits around at 33: 12 goals and 10 assists in 2026 — a team-high 22 goal contributions — and in August he became only the 20th player ever to reach 150 career MLS goal contributions. The 2021 MLS MVP also became the second player ever with 10-plus assists in six straight seasons. Extended in February 2026 through June 2028.
Dor Turgeman — #99, striker. The 22-year-old Israeli international is the Revs’ starting No. 9: nine goals and seven assists in 2026, including the brace that clinched the playoffs at Cincinnati. Signed in August 2025 from Maccabi Tel Aviv through 2028, he scored in each of his first three MLS appearances — the first Rev to do it. Note the number: he wore #11 in 2025, but fall-2026 rosters list him as #99.
Jack Harrison — #11, left winger. The summer statement signing: arrived July 25, 2026 from Leeds United on a Designated Player contract through 2029-30. The 29-year-old Englishman — once the No. 1 pick of the 2016 MLS SuperDraft with NYCFC — hit the ground sprinting with six assists in his first seven appearances, the fastest Rev ever to five assists, before a quad injury cost him about six weeks.
Peyton Miller — #25, left-back / winger. The breakout story of 2026: the 18-year-old Homegrown from Connecticut has seven goals and six assists from an attacking left-back role, and made his USMNT debut in autumn 2026. A teenage full-back producing like a winger — remember the name.
Matt Turner — #30, goalkeeper. The returning hero: 2021 MLS Goalkeeper of the Year, back on loan from Lyon since August 2025 and extended through December 31, 2026. He made eight saves in the playoff-clinching win at Cincinnati, and went to World Cup 2026 with the USMNT.
Luca Langoni — #41, right winger. The Argentine attacker signed from Boca Juniors in August 2024: three goals and six assists in 2026, a constant outlet on the right — he scored in the 2–1 home win over Philadelphia.
Star Spotlight
Gil joins the 150 club at Columbus. August 30, 2026: in a 3–1 win at the Columbus Crew, Gil produced one goal and two assists — setting up Polster’s equalizer, slipping in Turgeman for 2–1, then scoring a clipped golazo in the 79th minute — to reach 152 career MLS goal contributions, only the 20th player in league history past 150.
The night the playoffs came back. October 14, 2026: needing a result at FC Cincinnati, the Revs won 3–2 at TQL Stadium — Ilay Feingold opened the scoring at 4′, Turgeman scored twice, and Turner made eight saves. New England clinched a playoff berth for the first time since 2023 — in Mitrović’s first season.
Harrison’s instant impact. Unveiled before the July 25 game, Harrison debuted August 8 against Houston, assisted on his first start at Toronto, then produced a career-high three assists — all three for Alhassan Yusuf’s hat trick — in a 3–0 win at D.C. United on August 19. By August 30 he was the fastest player in club history to five assists, passing Steve Ralston’s mark, before the quad injury interrupted the fairytale.

This Season (2026): The Turnaround
New England sit 3rd in the Eastern Conference on 52 points from 30 matches (16W–4D–10L), 49 goals scored and 41 conceded — behind only Nashville SC and Inter Miami. The playoff spot was sealed on October 14 with the 3–2 win at Cincinnati, the club’s first postseason since 2023, and as a top-seven seed the Revs project to skip the Wild Card round. The mission is bigger than a berth: the first MLS Cup in club history, after five final defeats, most recently in 2014. Final seeding is decided over these last four games and on Decision Day.
The Porter problem has been fixed at its source: Gillette Stadium. The club reported a 9W–2L–2D home record in early October, tied for the second-most home wins in MLS — the exact opposite of the home form that cost the last coach his job. The season opened with a statement, Mitrović’s first win a 6–1 rout of FC Cincinnati on March 15. After a wobble — back-to-back 0–3 defeats — the Revs answered with the Cincinnati clincher and a 1–0 win over Chicago in front of 34,506.

Biggest Rivalries — The Wars
1. Red Bull New York — the I-95 rivalry. The Revs’ oldest enemy: two original 1996 clubs separated by about 200 miles of I-95. The 2025 meetings alone finished 2–1 to the Revs and a wild 5–3 Red Bulls win in which New England led 2–0. In 2026, the Red Bulls won the first meeting 1–0 in Harrison on February 28 — the rematch is a late-season grudge match at Gillette on October 28.
2. New York City FC. The other New York war — born in 2015 and sharpened by personnel: Jack Harrison started his career at NYCFC as the No. 1 SuperDraft pick of 2016, and USMNT goalkeeping bragging rights run through it — Turner against NYCFC’s Matt Freese, the man who started ahead of him at World Cup 2026. In 2026, New England went unbeaten in the series: a 1–1 draw at Gillette on August 23, then a 2–1 win at Citi Field on September 9 — Gil’s penalty the winner.
3. Columbus Crew. The quiet Eastern Conference war — two 1996 originals who have spent 30 years blocking each other’s paths. The 2026 verdict was a New England sweep: 2–1 at Gillette on April 18, Gil’s 85th-minute penalty the winner, and 3–1 in Columbus on August 30 — the night Gil reached 150 career goal contributions.
Frequently Asked Questions

Before that, the Revs are at Philadelphia on Saturday, October 24 (7:30 p.m. ET) and host Red Bull New York on Wednesday, October 28 (7:30 p.m. ET). Tickets are sold via revolutionsoccer.net.
Is Carles Gil still the Revolution’s captain and star?
Yes — Gil, 33, captains the side, wears No. 10, and is having a renaissance 2026: a team-high 22 goal contributions (12 goals) as of mid-October, past 150 career MLS goal contributions, and signed to a new contract (February 2, 2026) running through June 2028. The 2021 MLS MVP is the club’s all-time leader in assists and goal contributions.
Where do the Revs play — and are they really getting their own stadium?
Home games are at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough (soccer configuration listed at 20,000, expandable — 34,506 attended the October 17, 2026 Chicago game), shared with the Patriots since 2002. The soccer-specific stadium project took its biggest step yet on December 31, 2025, when the Kraft Group announced agreements with the cities of Everett and Boston to build on the 43-acre former power-plant site on the Mystic River in Everett. Plans call for a stadium of roughly 25,000 seats; as of fall 2026 the project is in permitting and environmental review, no opening date has been officially announced, and the Revs continue at Gillette in the interim.
Have the Revolution ever won a trophy — or MLS Cup?
They have won the U.S. Open Cup (2007 — their first major trophy), the North American SuperLiga (2008) and the Supporters’ Shield (2021, with a then-record points season under Bruce Arena). MLS Cup is the famous missing piece: the Revs have lost all five finals they have reached (2002, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2014) — the most finals of any club never to win it — which is why the 2026 playoff run, their first since 2023, matters so much.
