🏈 Cincinnati Bengals Fans — Your Jungle Is Waiting!
Burrow is healthy, Chase and Higgins are locked in for years, and the AFC North is one game from flipping. Stripes on, voices up — it is time to Rule The Jungle again.
The Club
The Cincinnati Bengals were founded in 1968 by the legendary Paul Brown — the man who built the Browns, then crossed the state to build their fiercest rival. The Bengals play at Paycor Stadium on the riverfront, a building every fan knows simply as The Jungle, where the striped helmets prowl and the “Who Dey!” chant rolls down to the Ohio River. Cincinnati has won three AFC championships — in the 1981, 1988 and 2021 seasons — and is still hunting the first Lombardi Trophy. The legends run deep: Anthony Muñoz, the greatest left tackle ever; Hall of Fame corner Ken Riley; Ken Anderson; 1988 MVP Boomer Esiason; Corey Dillon; Chad Johnson; A.J. Green. Searching for a Cincinnati Bengals jersey, the latest Bengals schedule or Bengals tickets? Start with the question The Jungle asks every week: when do the Bengals play — because in Cincinnati, game day starts with two words: Who Dey.

Last Season (2025): The Year It All Came Apart
The 2025 season broke in Week 2, when Joe Burrow suffered a turf-toe injury against Jacksonville and landed on injured reserve. Cincinnati went 1-8 without him, the defense collapsed to last in the league while surrendering 492 points, and the season limped home 6-11, third in the AFC North — a third straight postseason miss, the worst record since 2020. Burrow returned in Week 13 and lit up Baltimore in a 32-14 Thanksgiving-night upset, but a Week 15 shutout loss to the same Ravens ended the chase. The bright spots were individual: Ja’Marr Chase earned first-team All-Pro honors, and Tee Higgins set a career high with 11 receiving touchdowns despite two trips through concussion protocol.
Best Players Right Now (2026 Roster)
Joe Burrow, Quarterback (#9) — The franchise, healthy again. Through five games: 1,361 passing yards and 11 touchdown passes, with the league’s best receiver duo locked in around him.
Ja’Marr Chase, Wide Receiver (#1) — A first-team All-Pro in 2025 and still uncoverable: 27 catches, 289 yards and 4 touchdowns so far in 2026. Signed through 2029.
Tee Higgins, Wide Receiver (#5) — The team’s receiving-yards leader through five games with 27 catches for 423 yards. The other half of the NFL’s most feared pairing, signed through 2028.
Chase Brown, Running Back (#30) — The lead back and a genuine receiving weapon: 246 rushing yards plus 24 catches out of the backfield.
Mike Gesicki, Tight End (#88) — Burrow’s red-zone safety valve — 159 receiving yards and a share of the team lead with 4 receiving touchdowns.
Jordan Battle, Safety (#27) — The ballhawk of the rebuilt secondary: 29 tackles and a team-high 3 interceptions.
Demetrius Knight Jr., Linebacker (#44) — Team-high 42 tackles through five games. The middle of the new defense runs through the young linebacker.
Dexter Lawrence II, Defensive Tackle (#97) — The marquee addition to the rebuilt front; shares the team sack lead with 3, level with fellow newcomers Jonathan Allen and Boye Mafe.
Head coach: Zac Taylor — In his eighth season in charge, Taylor is the coach who took this franchise to Super Bowl LVI — and the man tasked with finishing the job this time.
Star Spotlight: Stories You Should Know
Burrow’s prove-it year. 2025 was his third injury-wrecked season, and December brought his famous “if it’s not fun, what am I doing it for?” press conference. Five games into 2026, the fun is visibly back — 11 touchdown passes, a healthy left toe, and Chase (through 2029) and Higgins (through 2028) locked in around him. The championship window is open. It will not stay open forever.
The defense that finally got help. After fielding the NFL’s worst defense in 2025, Cincinnati rebuilt the front in one offseason — Dexter Lawrence II and Jonathan Allen inside, Boye Mafe on the edge — and all three newcomers already share the team sack lead. Through five games the Bengals have allowed 109 points; a year ago, that felt like a month’s worth of damage.
Facing the one who left. Trey Hendrickson, Cincinnati’s sack king from 2021 to 2025, signed with Baltimore in free agency — and his first game against his old team comes on October 25, in Baltimore. Higgins admitted to “mixed feelings” about it. The real assignment falls on tackles Orlando Brown Jr. and Amarius Mims: keep their former teammate off Burrow, or the reunion turns ugly.

This Season (2026): The Window Is Open
Five games in, the Bengals sit at 3-2 — fourth in the AFC North, but only one game behind a three-way tie at the top between Cleveland, Pittsburgh and Baltimore, and eighth in the AFC, first team outside the playoff places. The results tell a rounding-into-form story: Tampa Bay beaten 33-27, Houston shut down 20-6 on the road, narrow losses to Pittsburgh (30-27) and Jacksonville (22-17), then a 31-24 win at Miami before the bye. The math encourages too — 128 points scored, just 109 allowed — an offense humming at 25.6 points per game with a rebuilt defense holding up its end. Everything from here runs through the division: Baltimore twice, Pittsburgh once more, Cleveland twice. Win the rematches, and the North is there for the taking.
Mark Your Calendar: Upcoming Games to Watch
Check the Bengals schedule and grab Bengals tickets early — these are the dates that will decide whether The Jungle hosts January football:
- October 25 — at Baltimore Ravens: Hendrickson Bowl, part one — the former sack king faces his old team for the first time, with first place in the North potentially on the line.
- November 15 — vs Pittsburgh Steelers (Sunday Night Football): The revenge game. Pittsburgh stole the first meeting 30-27 — under the lights at Paycor, Cincinnati gets its answer.
- November 23 — at Washington Commanders (Monday Night Football): A primetime road test in the middle of the division gauntlet.
- December 6 — at Cleveland Browns: The Battle of Ohio, round one — with the Browns currently sitting ahead of Cincinnati in the standings. That cannot stand.
- December 13 — vs Kansas City Chiefs: Burrow vs Mahomes at Paycor against the unbeaten Chiefs — the loudest December date in The Jungle.
- December 31 — vs Baltimore Ravens (New Year’s Eve): The Ravens at Paycor under the lights to ring in the New Year. If the North is still unsettled, this is the night it gets decided.
Biggest Rivalries — The Wars
1. Pittsburgh Steelers — the North’s defining hatred. Physical, personal and usually decisive. Pittsburgh took the first 2026 meeting 30-27 at home; the Sunday-night rematch in Cincinnati on November 15 is one of the biggest dates of the season.
2. Baltimore Ravens — the twice-a-year war. The division’s other superpower. Burrow’s Thanksgiving-night upset at Baltimore was the one bright spot of 2025 — and the 2026 meetings carry the extra spice of Hendrickson swapping a Bengals jersey for a Ravens one.
3. Cleveland Browns — the Battle of Ohio. The in-state fight Paul Brown built on both sides — he founded the Browns, then the Bengals. Cleveland sits ahead of Cincinnati in the 2026 standings, and the two meetings — December 6 in Cleveland, the Week 18 finale in Cincinnati — bookend the run-in.
4. Kansas City Chiefs — “Burrowhead.” Not a division rival, but the AFC’s modern grudge match. Burrow beat Mahomes in the 2021 AFC Championship Game at Arrowhead — a win Bengals players celebrated by renaming the stadium — before Kansas City took the 2022 rematch. Burrow is 3-1 against Mahomes all-time. December 13 is the next chapter.
