🏐 Dallas Pulse Fans — Your Championship Heartbeat Is Waiting!
One season. One trophy. The expansion Pulse shocked American volleyball in 2026, beating Omaha in a five-set classic to win the MLV Championship on their home floor in Frisco. The title defense starts in January — wear the royal blue and feel the pulse.
The Club
The Dallas Pulse are the newest champions in American volleyball — and they needed exactly one season to do it. Announced on July 19, 2023 as a Pro Volleyball Federation expansion franchise, the team took its name on October 16, 2025, when “MLV Dallas” officially became the Dallas Pulse — a name that, in team president Grady Raskin’s words, represents the heart of the city and the tempo of the game. Home is the Comerica Center in Frisco, Texas, in the heart of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. When the PVF and Major League Volleyball merged in August 2025, Dallas joined the unified MLV as its eighth team for the first season under the new name — and promptly won the whole thing, becoming the first team in the PVF/MLV era to lift the trophy on its own home floor, with a $1,000,000 team bonus riding on the final. Last Season (2026): Champions in Year One
There are debut seasons, and then there is what Dallas did in 2026. The Pulse went 20-8 to claim the No. 2 seed behind the 23-5 Indy Ignite, then beat the San Diego Mojo 3-1 in the May 7 semifinal to set up a final for the ages. On May 9, 2026, at a deafening Comerica Center, Dallas and the Omaha Supernovas played the first five-set final in league history: Omaha took the first and third sets, Dallas answered 25-23, then stormed home 25-13 and 15-9 to take the title 3-2. Sofia Maldonado Diaz was unstoppable — 27 points, 26 kills and 11 digs to earn Championship MVP — while Tristin Savage’s blocking set an MLV postseason record. Mimi Colyer had already been named the league’s Outside Hitter of the Year on May 6, and four Pulse players landed All-League honors. An expansion team is not supposed to do this. Dallas did it anyway.
Best Players Right Now (2026 Roster)
Mimi Colyer, Outside Hitter (#15) — The most dominant attacker in MLV in 2026: league leader in points and kills, unanimous All-League First Team and the Outside Hitter of the Year. The face of the champions.
Sofia Maldonado Diaz, Outside Hitter (#2) — The Championship MVP. Her 27 points in the five-set final delivered the trophy, and her 57 postseason points rank second all-time in MLV Championship history.
Natalia Valentin-Anderson, Setter (#1) — The captain and the franchise’s first marquee signing. The former Puerto Rico Olympian ran the title offense and stuffed the final stat sheet with 43 assists and 18 digs.
Layne Van Buskirk, Middle Blocker (#7) — An All-League honoree at the net — and one of the first champions to re-sign for the 2027 title defense.
Kaylee Cox, Outside Hitter (#9) — Came up huge in the final with 13 points — nine kills and four blocks — and has re-signed for 2027.
Kelsie Payne, Opposite Hitter (#8) — A three-time All-American whose power gives Dallas a second hammer on the right side. Also back under contract for 2027.
Kylie Murr, Libero (#6) — The starting libero, anchoring the floor defense that held firm through the five-set final.
Tristin Savage, Middle Blocker (#22) — The wall. Her 15 total blocks set an MLV postseason record during the title run, including seven in the final alone.
Head coach: Shannon Winzer — The franchise’s inaugural head coach, an Australian with senior national-team coaching experience in Australia, who built a champion from scratch in a single season. Jamille Torres and Robert Poole join her staff for 2027.
Star Spotlight: Stories You Should Know
The night Frisco became Titletown. Twice in the championship final, Dallas trailed — 0-1, then 1-2 — against an Omaha team built to win exactly this match. Twice, the Pulse refused to blink. A 25-13 fourth set flipped the building into delirium, and when the fifth closed 15-9, the confetti fell on the home floor: the first five-set final in league history, won by a first-year team, with a million-dollar bonus on the line. It is already the defining night in franchise history.
Colyer, the unstoppable. Some players announce themselves; Mimi Colyer simply took over the league. She led MLV in points, points per set, kills and kills per set, was a unanimous All-League First Team pick, and collected the Outside Hitter of the Year award two days before the semifinal. Every game plan in the league started with one question — how do we slow down No. 15? — and nobody found an answer that lasted five sets.
The captain who started it all. Before there was a name, a court or a single win, there was Natalia Valentin-Anderson — the franchise’s first marquee signing, a former Olympian entrusted with running a brand-new team. She repaid that trust all season, and on the biggest night she was everywhere: 43 assists and 18 digs in the final. Expansion teams are supposed to need years to find a leader. Dallas signed theirs first.

This Season (2027): The Title Defense
The encore will not be a victory lap. MLV grows to 12 teams for 2027, and everybody will be gunning for the champions when the season opens in January 2027 — the full schedule has not been released yet. Dallas, meanwhile, spent the summer getting deeper: championship pieces Layne Van Buskirk, Kelsie Payne and Kaylee Cox re-signed in June, and the front office added proven MLV talent in Thai international Ajcharaporn “Pure” Kongyot, All-League libero Shara Venegas, and Orlando title-winners Kaz Brown and Abby Akey. A new ASICS partnership, announced in August 2026, means a refreshed look for the defense, and the club will even debut its official mascot in December 2026. The banner goes up on opening night in Frisco. The target on Dallas’s back goes up with it.

Biggest Rivalries — The Wars
1. Omaha Supernovas — the final that started a war. One season in, these rivalries are young — but this one is already real. Omaha, the 2024 PVF champions, were the league’s flagship franchise; Dallas, the upstart, swept them 3-0 on May 1, 2026, then beat them again in the five-set championship final on the Pulse’s home floor eight days later. Every meeting from here is a grudge match.
2. Indy Ignite — the top-two feud. The 2026 regular season belonged to these two: Indy at 23-5, Dallas at 20-8. The Ignite won the last regular-season meeting on April 19, 2026 — but Dallas won the war, taking the championship Indy was favored to claim.
3. Orlando Valkyries — champions vs champions. Orlando, the 2025 champions, beat Dallas 3-1 in the 2026 regular-season finale on May 3, 2026. Dallas answered in the summer, signing Orlando title-winners Kaz Brown and Abby Akey for 2027. Nothing fuels a rivalry like roster raids.
4. Atlanta Vibe — the Southern showdown. Dallas defended a seven-game win streak against Atlanta at home in March 2026, one of the marquee dates of the first season. Two proud Southern fanbases, one court — this one will grow teeth fast.
