The Club

The Buffalo Bills were founded in 1960 by Ralph Wilson Jr. as a charter member of the AFL, and they play in Orchard Park, New York — now at the new Highmark Stadium, opened for the 2026 season, home of the legendary Bills Mafia. Buffalo won back-to-back AFL championships in 1964 and 1965, then built the team every fan still measures greatness against — Jim Kelly, Thurman Thomas, Andre Reed and Bruce Smith under Hall of Fame coach Marv Levy, who reached four straight Super Bowls in the early 1990s. Searching for a Buffalo Bills jersey, the latest Bills schedule or Bills tickets? Start with the question every fan asks each fall: when do the Bills play — because in Western New York, game day is a way of life.

Last Season (2025): Elite Offense, Bitter Ending

Buffalo’s 2025 season ended one win short — again. The Bills went 12-5, finished second in the AFC East behind the 14-3 Patriots, and took the No. 6 seed into a seventh straight playoff run. The offense was a machine: 481 points, fourth in the NFL, and the league’s No. 1 rushing attack with 2,714 yards. Josh Allen threw for 3,668 yards and 25 touchdowns, ran for 579 yards and 14 more scores, and became the quarterback with the most rushing touchdowns in NFL history. January brought a 27-24 wild-card win at Jacksonville, then heartbreak: a 33-30 overtime loss at No. 1 seed Denver, where Allen’s four turnovers proved decisive. Two days later, head coach Sean McDermott was fired after nine seasons and a 98-50 record. The era was over.

Best Players Right Now (2026 Roster)

Josh Allen, Quarterback (#17) — The 2024 NFL MVP and the face of the franchise. Everything in Buffalo runs through his arm, his legs and his refusal to slide.

James Cook III, Running Back (#4) — The engine of the ground game. One cut and he is gone — a home-run threat as a runner and a receiver.

Keon Coleman, Wide Receiver (#0) — The big-bodied young No. 1 outside receiver, built for contested catches and red-zone jump balls.

DJ Moore, Wide Receiver (#2) — The veteran star added to the receiver room in 2026, giving Allen a proven playmaker on the other side.

Khalil Shakir, Wide Receiver (#10) — Allen’s most trusted slot target. On third down, the ball finds Shakir.

Dalton Kincaid, Tight End (#86) — The seam-stretching pass catcher of a dangerous tight end pair, with Dawson Knox (#88) as the other half.

Greg Rousseau, Edge Rusher (#15) — Buffalo’s premier pass rusher, collapsing pockets with length and power.

Ed Oliver, Defensive Tackle (#91) — The disruptive force inside. When Oliver is wrecking the middle, the whole defense eats.

Christian Benford, Cornerback (#47) — The top cover corner, shadowing the opponent’s best receiver every Sunday.

Head coach: Joe Brady — The offensive coordinator promoted to the top job for 2026 after McDermott’s firing. His first season in charge, with Jim Leonhard running the defense.

Star Spotlight: Stories You Should Know

Josh Allen and the one missing line on the résumé. Allen owns the most playoff wins and starts of any quarterback never to start a Super Bowl. This fall he leads the highest-scoring offense in football at 32.8 points per game — the Brady-era Bills are built to finally end the wait.

The Joe Brady gamble. Buffalo fired a coach who won 98 games and handed the team to its young offensive coordinator. The offense has never looked better, but the defense ranks near the bottom of the league — 31st in yards allowed, 28th in points allowed through six games. Whether it heals up after the bye decides the season.

James Cook, engine of the ground game. Cook headlines a rushing identity that led the entire NFL in 2025 and keeps Buffalo balanced in any weather. When January turns Orchard Park into a snow globe, a run game like this is how you survive.

This Season (2026): Top of the East

Six games in, the Bills sit 5-1 and first in the AFC East, riding a two-game win streak out of the Week 7 bye. The résumé already sparkles: wins at Houston (36-31), over Detroit (41-31) in the new stadium’s first regular-season game, over the Chargers (24-16), and shootouts at the Rams (37-34) and Las Vegas (33-30). The only blemish is a 29-26 loss to New England — and with the Patriots (4-3) chasing and the Jets and winless Dolphins trailing, the December 6 rematch in Foxborough looms enormous. A home-heavy stretch makes Buffalo a Super Bowl favorite — if the defense improves.

Mark Your Calendar: Upcoming Games to Watch

Check the Bills schedule and grab Bills tickets early — these are the nights that will shape the season:

  • November 1 — vs Baltimore Ravens (1 p.m. ET, CBS): The first game out of the bye, at home. A heavyweight opener for the stretch run, with Ed Oliver expected back.
  • November 9 — at Minnesota Vikings (Monday Night Football, 8:15 p.m. ET, ESPN): Primetime on the road against another early-season power.
  • November 26 — vs Kansas City Chiefs (Thanksgiving night, 8:20 p.m. ET, NBC): Allen vs Mahomes in Orchard Park, on Thanksgiving, under the lights. The game of the year.
  • December 6 — at New England Patriots (4:25 p.m. ET, CBS): The AFC East title decider — and a revenge game for the Week 4 loss.
  • December 25 — at Denver Broncos (Christmas Day, 4:30 p.m. ET, Netflix): A Christmas rematch of last season’s playoff heartbreak.

Biggest Rivalries — The Wars

1. Kansas City Chiefs — the Allen era’s defining war. Mahomes and the Chiefs have blocked Buffalo’s Super Bowl path again and again in January, while the regular-season meetings have become instant classics.

2. New England Patriots — the crown fight. New England owned this division for two decades, Buffalo took it back in the 2020s, and now the Patriots — the 2025 division champions — want it again.

3. Miami Dolphins — the oldest grudge. A feud born in the 1970s, when Miami’s perfect-season teams tormented Buffalo. Fifty years on, still the most hated trip on the schedule.

4. New York Jets — six decades of bad blood. A fellow 1960 AFL charter franchise, green vs blue, twice a year, every year. The names change; the hatred does not.
