The Broncos are 4-2, the defense is hunting quarterbacks in waves, and the unbeaten Chiefs walk into Mile High on November 1. Fly the navy and orange, shake the south stands, and ride with Broncos Country all the way to February.
The Club
The Denver Broncos were founded in 1960 as a charter member of the AFL and play at Empower Field at Mile High in Denver, Colorado — 5,280 feet above sea level, where the thin air is a genuine home-field weapon and Broncos Country makes the ground shake. The franchise was built by legends like John Elway, Peyton Manning, Von Miller, Terrell Davis, Shannon Sharpe and Champ Bailey. Denver has won three Super Bowls: Super Bowl XXXII (Elway’s first ring, 25–24 over Green Bay), Super Bowl XXXIII (back-to-back, with Elway as MVP) and Super Bowl 50 (Von Miller’s MVP masterpiece in Manning’s farewell game). Searching for a Denver Broncos jersey, the latest Broncos schedule or Broncos tickets? Start with the question every fan asks each fall: when do the Broncos play — because at Mile High, game day is a way of life.

Last Season (2025): One Win Short
Denver’s 2025 season was a revival: a 14–3 record that tied the franchise single-season wins mark, the AFC West title and the AFC’s No. 1 seed — the club’s first division crown since the 2015 Super Bowl season. The Divisional round delivered a classic: a 33–30 overtime win over the Buffalo Bills at Empower Field, avenging the 2024 wild-card blowout in Buffalo. But the win cost everything. Bo Nix suffered a season-ending ankle injury on the second-to-last play, and with backup Jarrett Stidham starting, Denver lost the AFC Championship Game at home to the New England Patriots, 10–7, in a snowy defensive battle — one win short of Super Bowl LX. Offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi was fired days later, and Davis Webb was promoted for 2026.
Best Players Right Now (2026 Roster)
Bo Nix, Quarterback (#10) — The third-year starter and the face of the franchise, back from the ankle injury that ended his 2025 playoff run — and already stacking one-score wins.
Courtland Sutton, Wide Receiver (#14) — The veteran WR1 and locker-room standard-setter; Nix’s most trusted target when a game is on the line.
Jaylen Waddle, Wide Receiver (#17) — The blockbuster March 2026 trade arrival from Miami, who kept his No. 17 and immediately became the offense’s field-stretcher next to Sutton.
J.K. Dobbins, Running Back (#27) — The RB1 who has started every game, powering the ground game behind a veteran offensive line.
Evan Engram, Tight End (#1) — Sean Payton’s move tight end and the offense’s middle-of-the-field release valve.
Pat Surtain II, Cornerback (#2) — The All-Pro lockdown corner — the best player on Vance Joseph’s defense and the matchup every opposing WR1 dreads.
Nik Bonitto, Outside Linebacker (#15) — The edge engine of the pass rush; offenses have to scheme around him on every snap.
Zach Allen, Defensive End (#99) — The interior disruptor who wrecks run fits and collapses pockets from inside.
Head coach: Sean Payton — Running the show in Denver since 2023, with Davis Webb calling the offense and Vance Joseph leading a defense that hits quarterbacks in waves.
Star Spotlight: Stories You Should Know
Nix’s unfinished business. Bo Nix’s 2025 season ended on the second-to-last play of the Divisional win over Buffalo — an ankle injury that forced him to watch the AFC title game from the sideline. Year three is the answer: Denver is 4–2, and all four wins are one-score games, decided by 7, 4, 6 and 3 points. Nix and Payton have turned winning ugly into an identity.
The Penguin lands at Mile High. Denver’s March 2026 blockbuster sent picks Nos. 30, 94 and 130 to Miami for Jaylen Waddle, with pick No. 111 coming back. He debuted on Monday Night Football at Arrowhead in custom penguin cleats and instantly gave Nix a true WR duo next to Sutton — the first of the Nix era.
A defense that hits quarterbacks 17 times. Vance Joseph’s unit is the backbone of this team. In the Week 6 Thursday-night overtime win over Seattle, Denver hit Sam Darnold 17 times, and Ja’Quan McMillian’s overtime interception set up Wil Lutz’s 53-yard winner. With Surtain erasing one side of the field and Bonitto and Allen collapsing pockets, the defense gives Nix a chance in every fourth quarter.

This Season (2026): Chasing Kansas City
Denver’s division-title defense sits at 4–2 through Week 7 — second in the AFC West behind unbeaten Kansas City (5–0), holding the AFC’s No. 5 seed and riding a two-game win streak. The opener was ugly, a 31–10 loss at Kansas City, but everything since has been a street fight: wins over Jacksonville, the LA Rams, the LA Chargers and Seattle — all one-score games — with the only other defeat a 24–14 trip to San Francisco. With all five offensive-line starters back from PFF’s top-ranked 2025 unit and a defense that never stops hitting, this team does not lose close games. Kansas City already owns the head-to-head win, so the November 1 rematch at Mile High is the swing game of the division race.

Check the Broncos schedule and grab Broncos tickets early — these are the nights that will shape the season:
- October 25 — at Arizona Cardinals: First up out of the mini-break. Denver travels to Glendale as road favorites, looking to keep the win streak rolling.
- November 1 — vs Kansas City Chiefs: THE game. Denver’s shot to pull level with the unbeaten Chiefs and flip the AFC West, under the Mile High lights.
- November 22 — vs Las Vegas Raiders: The AFL-era feud renews in Denver — the nastiest rivalry in the division, no matter what the records say.
- November 27 — at Pittsburgh Steelers (Black Friday): A standalone Black Friday window at Acrisure Stadium. Holiday football with playoff stakes.
- December 25 — vs Buffalo Bills (Christmas Day): A Christmas Day rematch of January’s 33–30 overtime Divisional classic, this time on Netflix at Mile High. A gift for Broncos Country.
Biggest Rivalries — The Wars
1. Kansas City Chiefs — the modern AFC West crown fight. Denver ended Kansas City’s decade of division dominance in 2025; the Chiefs answered 31–10 in Week 1 of 2026. Round two is November 1 at Mile High, and the division may turn on it.
2. Las Vegas Raiders — AFL-era hatred. This feud dates to 1963 and stays nasty no matter the records. Two meetings are left: November 22 in Denver and December 20 in Las Vegas.
3. Los Angeles Chargers — The third leg of the West wars. Denver already won at SoFi, 23–17 on October 11, and the Chargers come back to Mile High for the season finale.
4. New England Patriots — the playoff nemesis. New England won the 2025 AFC Championship in Denver, 10–7, with Nix injured on the sideline — and a decade earlier, Denver’s Super Bowl 50 run went through Foxborough. The rematch in New England writes the next chapter.
