💚 Seattle Sounders FC Fans — Your Rave Green Is Built for November!
Nine major trophies, a Leagues Cup won by shutting out Messi, and a playoff seed to defend with four games to play. Rave green shirts, full voice — this is the season to wear the Sounders like you mean it.
The Club
Seattle Sounders FC was founded in 2007 as an MLS expansion club and kicked off in 2009 — 2026 is the club’s 18th MLS season. The Rave Green: rave green, Sounder blue and cascade shale, nine major trophies in the cabinet, and a matchday culture that set the standard every other MLS city still chases. Checking the Seattle Sounders roster or the Sounders schedule? Start with a club that treats silverware as a habit, not a hope.
Home is Lumen Field in downtown Seattle — soccer capacity around 37,722, and one of the loudest buildings in North American soccer. This summer it hosted six FIFA World Cup matches while MLS paused; in the fall it is back to its real job, shaking visiting teams before a ball is kicked. Recent crowds have topped 35,000 for the Portland visit and 33,000 against Montréal.
The man in charge is Brian Schmetzer — in the job since 2016, a Seattle soccer lifer who has led the club to two MLS Cups and the 2025 Leagues Cup. His 2026 side does it by committee: no Sounder has more than five league goals, the assists are shared, and the whole roster seems to take turns being the hero.
Is Jordan Morris playing? It is the question Sounders fans type into Google every week — and the homegrown star from Mercer Island is right where he belongs, the senior name in a young attack, flanked by captain Cristian Roldan and the creativity of Designated Player Albert Rusnák. The names change; the standard in Seattle never does.

#13 Morris — Seattle Sounders Style Jersey
$59.99
The Mercer Island homegrown in rave green. The fan-inspired No. 13 Morris style jersey — the shirt Lumen Field has worn through two MLS Cups and a Leagues Cup.
Last Season (2025): The Leagues Cup Year
Seattle’s 2025 was a four-competition juggling act — league, Concacaf Champions Cup, a FIFA Club World Cup on home soil — and it still finished with silverware. On August 31, 2025, at Lumen Field, the Sounders beat Inter Miami 3–0 in the Leagues Cup final, the ninth major trophy in club history, won by shutting out the Messi-era Miami in front of a sold-out home crowd.
The league campaign was no afterthought either: fifth in the Western Conference with 55 points. But the MLS Cup run ended in the most painful way possible. Round One, Game 3 at Minnesota, November 8: Seattle led 2–0 inside eight minutes — Rusnák, then Danny Musovski — Morris forced 3–3 late, and Minnesota won a 10-round shootout 7–6, with backup keeper Andrew Thomas subbed on cold just for the penalties. Musovski’s 18 all-competition goals finished one shy of the club record. Silverware and scar tissue, in equal measure.
Best Players Right Now
Jordan Morris — #13, forward. The homegrown star from Mercer Island and the senior name in a young attack: four assists in 2026, endless running in behind, and the scorer of the dramatic late equalizer in the 2025 playoff decider at Minnesota.
Albert Rusnák — #11, attacking midfielder. The Designated Player creator: four goals and a team-high 11 assists in 2026. He scored the early opener in the 2025 Game 3 playoff classic — the man Seattle look to when a game needs unlocking.
Cristian Roldan — #7, midfielder, captain. The heartbeat of the team: five goals in 2026, joint-top of the club’s scoring chart, the standard-setter in the middle and the man who wears the armband.
Pedro de la Vega — #10, winger. The Argentine Designated Player in the No. 10 shirt — Seattle’s flair player between the lines, the alternate star shirt for a reason.
Paul Rothrock — #14, winger. The local product turned starter: five goals in 2026, joint-top of the scoring chart with Roldan — proof of the Sounders’ scoring-by-committee model.
Danny Musovski — #19, striker. Top scorer across all competitions in 2025 with 18 goals, one off the club record — still the penalty-box reference point when Seattle need a finish.
Star Spotlight
The night Seattle shut out Messi. August 31, 2025. Leagues Cup final, Lumen Field: Sounders 3, Inter Miami 0. A sold-out home crowd watched Schmetzer’s side out-run and out-press the Messi-era Miami to lift the club’s ninth major trophy — the defining image of Seattle’s 2025 and a night that still echoes every time the Rave Green take the field.
The 1–5 Cascadia humiliation. July 16, 2026: the first home game after Lumen Field’s World Cup summer, on a night that began with club legends Jimmy Gabriel, Sigi Schmidt and Kasey Keller inducted into the Eternal Circle of Legends. Portland tore Seattle apart 5–1 — the Timbers’ biggest MLS win in the rivalry — and a Hassani Dotson consolation header was all the home fans got. The fall recovery was built on the ashes of that night.
The Game 3 heartbreak. November 8, 2025: two goals up in eight minutes at Minnesota, 3–3 by the end through Morris, then a 10-round penalty shootout lost 6–7 — with keeper Andrew Thomas thrown on cold for the shootout. The most dramatic MLS playoff game of 2025, and the fuel for Seattle’s 2026 “unfinished business” storyline.

This Season (2026): Unfinished Business
The Sounders sit seventh in the Western Conference on 42 points from 30 matches — 11 wins, 10 defeats, nine draws, 39 scored and 37 conceded — holding the last direct Round One seed, in the playoff places but not yet clinched. The fall form is the story: home wins over Real Salt Lake (2–0), Minnesota (3–1) and Sporting KC (2–1) built a nine-game unbeaten run before a 1–0 loss at FC Dallas on October 14, followed by a 1–1 draw with CF Montréal.
The summer, by contrast, was a disaster: after Lumen Field’s World Cup duty, Seattle returned with that 1–5 home humiliation against Portland, part of a six-match losing streak — the club’s worst MLS run. The recovery dragged them back into the picture, powered by committee: Roldan and Rothrock on five goals each, Rusnák’s team-high 11 assists, summer arrival Dejan Joveljić chipping in four, and Andrew Thomas starting in goal through the fall. If the season ended today, Seattle would open Round One against No. 2 seed St. Louis CITY SC. Four games to make sure of it.

Biggest Rivalries — The Wars
1. Portland Timbers — the Cascadia rivalry. North America’s longest-running soccer feud, dating to the NASL in 1975 — 146 meetings deep, with Seattle leading the all-time series. But 2026 belonged to Portland in humiliating fashion: a 5–1 win at Lumen Field on July 16, the Timbers’ biggest MLS-era win over Seattle, and a 2–1 at Providence Park on August 1 to complete the season sweep. Debts like that are not forgotten in Seattle.
2. Vancouver Whitecaps — the Cascadia Cup. The third corner of the Cascadia Cup, the trophy created by the three clubs’ supporters in 2004. Vancouver led the 2026 Cascadia table in the summer — and the next meeting, November 1 at BC Place, likely decides both the Cup and playoff seeding.
3. LAFC. The modern playoff war: the clubs have traded postseason blows since LAFC’s 2018 arrival, two glamour programs who keep meeting when it matters most. They close the 2026 regular season against each other on Decision Day, November 7 at Lumen Field, with seeding at stake.
