🏐 Omaha Supernovas Fans — Your NovasNation Is Waiting!
The biggest crowds in world volleyball, a championship banner in the rafters, and a team that came one set from a second title. Omaha is the capital of the pro game — wear the black, pink and light blue, and bring the noise back in January.
The Club
The Omaha Supernovas were announced as a Pro Volleyball Federation franchise on April 12, 2023, and unveiled their name, logo and colors that July — pink, light blue, purple and navy, with a star-speckled look built for the spotlight. Omaha plays at CHI Health Center Omaha, the 18,320-seat downtown arena that has become the loudest room in the sport. A charter member of the PVF, Omaha won the league’s inaugural championship in 2024, and after driving the creation of Major League Volleyball in 2025, the Supernovas stayed home when the whole league took the MLV name that August. The club is owned by Nebraska Pro Volleyball — Danny White and Jason Derulo — with Husker legend John Cook joining as co-owner and general manager in October 2025, and the fan base, NovasNation, has made Omaha the attendance flagship of world professional volleyball: playoff berths in all three seasons and crowds nobody else can match. Searching for an Omaha Supernovas jersey, the latest Supernovas schedule or Supernovas tickets? Start with the question NovasNation asks every winter: when do the Supernovas play?

Last Season (2026): One Set Short of Another Crown
The first MLV season was a year of upheaval in Omaha. Head coach Luka Slabe was replaced by interim coach Thomas Robson in early April, a blockbuster midseason trade sent former Supernovas setter Natalia Valentín-Anderson to Dallas, and two key middle blockers were lost to injury. Omaha still scrapped to a 14-14 record and the No. 4 seed — then caught fire in May. In the semifinal on May 7, the Supernovas upset the No. 1 seed Indy Ignite in five sets, 25-22, 21-25, 27-29, 25-20, 15-13. Two nights later came the “Match For A Million” — the first five-set championship in league history, before a sold-out crowd in Frisco. Merritt Beason poured in 20 points and captains Brooke Nuneviller and Sarah Parsons added 16 apiece, but Dallas took the decider: 25-20, 23-25, 25-15, 13-25, 9-15. One set short of back-to-back crowns, three years into this franchise’s life. NovasNation hurt — and immediately started counting down to January.
Best Players Right Now (2026 Roster)
Brooke Nuneviller, Outside Hitter (#5) — Team captain and the face of the franchise since day one; the 2025 PVF Outside Hitter of the Year and two-time All-League First Team pick who has starred in all three Supernovas seasons.
Merritt Beason, Opposite Hitter (#13) — Omaha’s go-to arm in the 2026 playoff run and the team’s top scorer in the championship match, with 20 points, 14 kills and a career-high five blocks. The former Florida and Nebraska star owns the big moments.
Sydney Hilley, Setter (#2) — The 2025 PVF Setter of the Year, won with Indy, who crossed to Omaha for 2026 and ran the Supernovas’ offense. One of the most decorated setters in the league.
Morgan Hentz, Libero (#9) — A two-time league Libero of the Year signed from Atlanta, wearing the contrast jersey and anchoring a back row that never lets a ball drop cheaply.
Sarah Parsons, Outside Hitter (#11) — A captain alongside Nuneviller, who matched her with 16 points in the 2026 final. Big-match production is her calling card.
Reagan Cooper, Outside Hitter (#8) — Another reliable arm in a deep outside-hitter rotation, part of the retooled roster that carried Omaha back to the final.
Emily Londot, Opposite Hitter (#27) — Firepower off the right side, giving Omaha a second scoring threat behind Beason at opposite.
Kiara Reinhardt, Middle Blocker (#10) — A presence at the net in a middle group that battled through injuries all spring and still held up in the playoffs.
Head coach: Thomas Robson (interim) — Robson stepped in for Luka Slabe in early April 2026 and steered a battered roster to within one set of the title. Above him sits co-owner and GM John Cook, the legendary Nebraska coach shaping the franchise’s future.
Star Spotlight: Stories You Should Know
The captain who never left. Rosters turn over fast in a young league — Omaha’s 2025 team had just two returners — but one thing has never changed: Brooke Nuneviller in the #5 jersey. The only Supernova to star in all three seasons, she was the league’s best outside hitter in 2025 and, in the 2026 final, dragged her team through five sets with 15 kills and a career-high-tying 22 digs. Every era of this franchise has the same face.
The set that got away. The 2026 final had a script no novelist would dare: Omaha’s own former setter, Natalia Valentín-Anderson, traded to Dallas midseason, on the other side of the net for the “Match For A Million.” Omaha led, Dallas answered, and the first five-set final in league history swung on the decider, 9-15. It is the loss that fuels everything about 2027 — and the rematch NovasNation wants more than any other.
The loudest building in world volleyball. No pro team on Earth draws like Omaha. The Supernovas played the first match in league history before 11,624 fans in January 2024, broke the US record three times that spring, then drew 13,486 against Atlanta on January 10, 2025 — still the American record. Their 2025 average of 10,925 per match was the highest of any professional volleyball team in the world. CHI Health Center is not a home court; it is a wall of sound.

This Season (2027): Twelve Teams, One Target
Major League Volleyball gets bigger in 2027: 12 teams in two conferences, with Omaha in the Western Conference alongside Dallas, Los Angeles, Minnesota, NorCal and Vegas — and a 26-match regular season starting in January 2027. The full schedule has not been released yet, but the mission needs no calendar: finish the job that slipped away by one set in Frisco. The league-wide draft on November 23, 2026 is the first building block, and with John Cook in the front office and the sport’s most intimidating home crowd behind them, the Supernovas enter the bigger league as what they have always been — its flagship, and the team everyone else measures itself against.
Mark Your Calendar: The Road Ahead
The 2027 match schedule is still to come — but these are the dates, and the rivalry nights, NovasNation already has circled:
- November 23, 2026 — the MLV Draft: All 12 teams stock their rosters for the expanded league. Omaha’s picks are the first pieces of the 2027 title push.
- January 2027 — the season opener: Season four begins at CHI Health Center Omaha, where the wall of sound returns from night one.
- The Dallas rematch: On May 9, 2026, Dallas edged Omaha 3-2 in the five-set “Match For A Million” final on the Pulse’s home floor. With both clubs in the Western Conference, the 2027 meetings are the first fixtures every Supernovas fan will hunt for when the schedule drops.
- The Indy rematch: Omaha stunned the No. 1-seeded Ignite 3-2 in the May 7, 2026 semifinal — payback for Indy’s 2025 semifinal upset. Round three arrives in 2027.
- The Orlando rematch: The league’s first two champions went five sets in Omaha on January 18, 2026, Orlando winning 3-2. Circle the return fixture at CHI Health Center.
Biggest Rivalries — The Wars
1. Dallas Pulse — the rawest feud in the league. Dallas took Omaha’s former setter in a midseason trade, beat the Supernovas in the May 1, 2026 regular-season finale, then edged them in the five-set championship match on Dallas’s home floor. Both live in the 2027 Western Conference. This one is personal.
2. Indy Ignite — the semifinal war. Indy ended Omaha’s back-to-back title dream in the 2025 semifinal, winning 3-2. Omaha returned the favor in 2026, upsetting the No. 1-seeded Ignite in another five-set classic. Two Mays, two heartbreaks, one each.
3. Grand Rapids Rise — where it all began. The Rise were the other half of the league’s first championship final in 2024, swept away as Omaha lifted the inaugural trophy. A Midwest feud dating to the very first postseason.
4. Atlanta Vibe — the record-breakers. Omaha and Atlanta played the first match in league history in January 2024, and the all-time US record crowd of 13,486 packed in to see them in 2025 — the night Omaha also snapped Atlanta’s league-record 13-match winning streak to clinch the regular-season title.
