The Club
The Milwaukee Bucks are one of the NBA’s proudest franchises. Founded in 1968 and based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the Bucks play at the Fiserv Forum in their famous green and cream colors. They have won two NBA championships — 1971 (with legends Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Oscar Robertson) and 2021, when they ended a 50-year title drought in one of the most emotional Finals runs in league history.
The End of an Era: Giannis Moves to Miami
No Bucks article in 2026 can start anywhere else. In July 2026, after 13 seasons, the Bucks traded franchise icon Giannis Antetokounmpo (31) to the Miami Heat, along with veteran Bobby Portis, in exchange for Tyler Herro, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Kel’el Ware, Kasparas Jakucionis, three first-round picks, a pick swap and a second-rounder.
Giannis leaves as the greatest Buck ever: 10× All-Star, 9× All-NBA, 2× MVP, and the man who delivered the 2021 championship. Even in an injury-hit final season in Milwaukee (36 games), he still averaged 28 points and 10 rebounds. He now wears No. 7 in Miami — saying No. 34 belongs to Milwaukee forever, out of respect.
Best Players Right Now (2026-27 Roster)
Tyler Herro, 27, Shooting Guard — The new face of the franchise and the centerpiece of the Giannis trade. A proven elite scorer and former All-Star coming from Miami, the offense now runs through him.
Myles Turner, 30, Center — The defensive anchor. One of the league’s best shot-blockers, giving Milwaukee the rim protection it has missed.
Kyle Kuzma, 31, Power Forward — Veteran scorer and 2020 NBA champion (Lakers) who brings championship experience to a young locker room.
Ryan Rollins, 24, Point Guard — The breakout story. Started 67 games last season and led the team with 17.3 points per game. The coaching staff sees him as the team’s new on-court leader.
Kevin Porter Jr., 26, Guard — Explosive scorer who was the team’s second-leading scorer last season. Instant offense off the bounce.
Jaime Jaquez Jr., 25, Forward — Arrived in the Giannis trade. Tough, smart two-way wing who does a bit of everything.
Kel’el Ware, 22, Center — The young big from the Miami deal. Athletic 7-footer and the frontcourt piece of the future — a fantasy-basketball favorite for a breakout year.
Brayden Burries, 21, Guard (Rookie) — Drafted No. 10. NBA general managers voted him the biggest steal of the 2026 draft (30% of votes). Bucks fans should be very excited.
Nate Ament, 20, Forward (Rookie) — Drafted No. 13. A 6’10” Tennessee product with huge upside.

Last Season (2025-26): One to Forget
The Bucks finished 32–50, 11th in the Eastern Conference, missing the playoffs and snapping nine straight postseason trips. Giannis managed only 36 games with a persistent left knee injury, and head coach Doc Rivers parted ways with the team after the season. The silver lining: Ryan Rollins’ breakout and the emergence of young talent.
This Season (2026-27): The Rebuild Begins
For the first time since 2012-13, Milwaukee tips off without Giannis — and for the first time in a decade, without playoff expectations (Vegas sets the win total at just 25.5). But there is real hope: two lottery rookies, a 22-year-old center of the future, and a 24-year-old point guard already leading the team. The season opener is October 21 at Washington. This is Year One of the new Bucks.
Biggest Rivalries — The Wars
1. Miami Heat — THE rivalry now. Playoff wars in 2020, 2021 and the stunning 2023 upset when 8th-seed Miami knocked out top-seed Milwaukee. And now? Giannis plays for them. Every Bucks–Heat game is personal.
2. Boston Celtics — The modern classic. Their 2022 Eastern semifinal went seven games and is remembered as one of the toughest series of the decade. Two proud franchises that keep colliding.
3. Chicago Bulls — The geographic war. A Central Division rivalry going back decades — short trip, loud arenas, no love lost.
4. Philadelphia 76ers — Star power: Embiid and the new-look Sixers are must-watch TV, and the fan bases genuinely dislike each other.
